RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Since 2005, Virtual-IT has been conceiving and producing display kiosks and designing interactive spaces and has quickly turned its activity towards innovation. Growing investments in the R&D department has allowed us today to reach tangible results in the realm of dynamic interface creation, real-time 3D and interaction design.
Indeed, Virtual-IT has grown close with some of the region’s most important actors in innovation (see Partners) and has selected technical and technological partners (optical electronics, computing), allowing the company to innovate in the realm of touch screens by offering more reliable display technologies and an original approach of multi-touch interactions (large screens and interactive tables).
The partnership between Virtual-IT and Midi-Pyrénées’s major actors in research such as the I.R.I.T. (Toulouse’s research institute in computing), the L.A.R.A. (audiovisual research laboratory) and other firms from the region’s economic fabric has resulted in a strong research dynamic. This puts the analysis and evaluation of interactions and gestural models at the heart of the research department’s concerns and places the user at the center so as to offer a new “gestural aesthetic”.
Working on the assumption that the interface must adapt itself to the user and not the other way around, Virtual-IT tackles new technologies and interaction design by putting the emphasis on the choice of graphic signs, icons and the type of scenario for the projects. By privileging “why use” than “how to use”, by encouraging the “natural gesture” rather than checking the manual, Virtual-IT is committed to a quality approach in the realm of interactivity.
